Safe Zone

Wipelot Safezone is an approach and collision warning system developed for construction machinery. It is designed to prevent dangerous approaches and collisions between vehicles that are in motion throughout the day such as construction machinery, forklifts, reach trucks, or milk-run vehicles with each other, equipment, and personnel.

Safezone plays an important role in occupational safety by creating a safe approach distance for vehicle operators working under difficult conditions due to layout, vehicle traffic in the working environment, many walking personnel, blind spots, and time pressure.

How Does It Work?

The system consists of an alarm center and a control unit using UWB (ultra-wide band) technology that can be easily implemented without damaging the vehicles. The control unit creates a virtual safety area around the vehicle.

The alarm center gives a visual and audible warning to the driver in dangerous approaches. RFID mobile tags carried by walking personnel, on the other hand, detect vehicles approaching dangerously and warn those who carry mobile tags against possible accidents by vibrating and with a light. In addition, the system helps prevent potential injuries or accidents by taking emergency action such as slowing down and stopping if the vehicle supports it if the dangerous approach continues.

Expandable Features

In addition to its plug-and-play ease of use, the Safezone system has features that ensure the safety of personnel and inventory, particularly heavy industrial vehicles, in many areas thanks to its expandable options.

  • Blind Spot Warning System Possible collisions are avoided by placing blind spot devices at locations in the production facility determined to be dangerous areas, such as blind spots, corridor entrances and exits, between shelves or intersections, where the moving machines cannot physically see each other. In this way, scenarios such as warning the operators and slowing down the vehicles when approaching locations where there are blind spot readers are applied.
  • Automatic Gate/Barrier Opening: Automatic zone reader units specially designed for automatic gate systems slow down the vehicle that is approaching the gate to within set speed limits and automatically opens the gate by communicating with the Safezone device installed in the vehicle.
  • Industrial Vehicle Applications: It plays an important role in the precautions to be taken regarding the safety of large-sized loading vehicles such as trucks and excavators and personnel at locations such as mines, construction sites, and ports. It warns vehicle operators of dangerous approaches by measuring the distance between pedestrians and other vehicles in the vicinity during loading. The Safezone device can stop the vehicle by triggering the E-Stop mechanism installed in supported construction vehicles.
